Ruthanna McAlister
Ruthanna studied from the age of 7 years at Cadek Conservatory of Music in Chattanooga, TN. She was eventually awarded a teaching internship at Cadek Conservatory which she held for four years while earning her undergraduate degree at University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. She was also awarded a graduate assistantship while earning her masters at New Mexico State University. She studied with Pianists in Residence Arthur Rivituso and William Leland, respectively, for her undergraduate and master’s degrees in piano performance. She has been teaching piano and music theory for over 25 years.
Ruthanna has taught at Montessori schools, conservatories, at the university level, and in many different states across the country. She performed locally in Atlanta with The Georgia Philharmonic Symphony. She performs regularly both solo and with local chamber music groups. Other performances include well known venues such as the Governor's Mansion and The Rialto in Atlanta, Ford Auditorium at Berry College, Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University and New Mexico State University, among others.
