Dr. Elena Dorozhkina, DMA in Piano Performance
Russian-American pianist and piano pedagogue, Dr. Elena Dorozhkina, graduated from the renowned Saint-Petersburg State Music Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov in Russia with degrees in piano performance, collaborative piano, and piano pedagogy, and earned her DMA in piano performance from the University of North Texas, the USA. Elena won prizes in a number of International and National Piano Competitions in the USA, Germany, Ukraine, and Russia.
Dr. Dorozhkina has performed solo and collaborative recitals at concert halls of the USA, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, and Ukraine. Her 2020-22 engagements included solo and collaborative recitals, and piano master classes at Spivey Hall in Morrow, GA, Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA, Rice Music House at Steinway Piano Galleries in Columbia, SC, St. Philip Cathedral in Atlanta, GA, and Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA.
In June 2022, Elena’s Spivey Hall solo and collaborative recital performance was broadcasted on The Atlanta Music Scene, WABE FM 90.1 radio.
Dr. Dorozhkina is a past president of Atlanta Music Teachers Association (2018-2022) and currently is AMTA’s president-elect, Atlanta Piano Festival co-chair, and website manager. Elena is an active adjudicator for numerous regional piano competitions and auditions in the Southeast.
Dr. Dorozhkina enjoys teaching the art of piano playing to children and adults of all levels and ages. Elena has taught at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA, Preparatory Music School of Clayton State University in Morrow, GA, and Perimeter College at Georgia State University in Clarkston, GA. In 2019 Dr. Dorozhkina was awarded Georgia Music Teachers Association and Steinway Piano Galleries Teacher Grant.
Currently, Dr. Dorozhkina teaches piano classes at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, and in her private piano studio in Avondale Estates, GA.
